This project seeks to add a large, contemporary and open plan living space to extend the family home. Keeping with the local vernacular, a finely detailed brick clad box sits proudly adjacent to the more traditional existing building. Externally, a large covered dining area is provided to link the inside and outside.
DYSE have been commissioned to undertake the design of the new structure. The structure features closely centred engineered timber beams supported on engineered timber columns. The masonry cladding acts structurally supporting both vertical and horizontal loads. The structure is founded on new shallow bearing foundations.
