Nottingham Enterprise Zone Footbridge
Nottingham Enterprise Zone footbridge is part of an upgrade by Nottingham City Council to pedestrian and cycle links connecting the Nottingham Enterprise Zone directly with Nottingham Science Park. It also improves access to the University of Nottingham and the Queen’s Medical Centre, as well as providing access to new housing. The steel trussed 50-metre footbridge over the Midland Mainline railway was installed in August 2018 by contractor Eurovia.
DYSE were appointed by the contractor, Eurovia, to provide temporary works design and independent checking on the project. The 50-metre spanning bridge was installed in a single lift using a 1000T crane. DYSE’s role included the design of a temporary culverted water course, working platforms and numerous crane lifts for the main bridge and the approach spans, as well as independent checking of pier formwork and temporary lifting points.
